Stele is a series of black-and-white photographs of steel re-enforced concrete pillars, severed at the top, towering above the viewer. These modern ruins—apparent monuments to a forgotten civilization—simultaneously call to mind present and past, destruction and abandonment, presence and absence. Output as tiled large format Xerox prints, the installation appears as fragile and disposable as the pillars themselves.
